Chapter 171: Rewards for the Inheritor
Even if the rules allowed it, the Academy would still settle scores with him for killing a Professor. It was his name that protected him, and allowed him to run wild in the Academy.
If his own class and abilities were a pillar that kept him alive, then his last name was another important pillar.
Throughout the night, Elias was lost in thoughts. He barely fell asleep when the sun started rising on the horizon. There was no class today, so he could sleep for as long as he wanted.
It was only in his sleep that he finally had a moment of peace, not having to worry about the things that kept him awake at night.
The Academy, on the other hand, was missing that moment of peace. The Professors had searched throughout the Academy, and even announced rewards for the Inheritor of the Ice Phoenix Flames.
The announcement was delivered through the Academy Identification Badges. The announcement had sent a wave of shock throughout the academy.
The news about the appearance of the Ice Phoenix Flames was only limited to a few people previously. With the announcements, it reached every corner of the academy.
From the first year students, to the last year students, the news stunned everyone. An even more shocking thing was the reward that the Academy declared.
The Inheritor of the Ice Phoenix Flames was going to receive a High Grade Growth Stone that could be used as long as a person hadn't gone through four or more evolutions.
Throughout their lives, a person could only use two growth stones. One was the ordinary growth stone, that was only helpful when a person had just awakened.
It was a rare item that only a few large families possessed. It could only be used once throughout the person's life, before they had gone through their first evolution.
Meanwhile, the High Grade Growth Stone, could be used even if a person had gone through his third evolutions, as long as they hadn't passed the fourth evolution.
Even though it could also be used only once throughout a person's life, it was still thousands of times more valuable than an ordinary one, because of its use and rarity.
If there were a hundred ordinary growth stones in existence, then there were only ten. And the Academy had declared such a reward for the inheritor.
Almost every student who heard the announcement felt jealous. They complained why they couldn't have such good luck.
Not only had someone inherited the Ice Phoenix Flames, the third rank Mythical Flame in existence, but they were also receiving a High Grade Evolution Stone.
Even worse was that the announcement didn't stop with that. There was another reward for the Inheritor of the previous Dean's Legacy.
The Academy announced that the Inheritor of the Ice Phoenix Flames, was going to become the Core Student at the Academy, a position that was equal to an Academy's Professor.
It was no different than saying that the Academy was going to do everything in their power to help that person grow, as they were the star of the future generations.
There were only a few Core Students at the academy. Not many people knew their exact numbers, but it was largely believed that they didn't number more than ten in the Academy that had tens of thousands of students.
The Core Students weren't forced to take parts in the Academy Examinations, or even tests. They were free to attend whichever class they preferred, even if it didn't align with their years.
Everyone who heard the news, felt their regret increase by a million times. If only they knew about it before, they could have tried to take the Ice Phoenix Flames. They could also become a Star Student of the Academy.
They would have agreed to put their lives on the line for this one opportunity.
Meanwhile, the person who actually received this opportunity, didn't even know about it. He was sleeping peacefully, being hugged by his Soul Beast.
The Academy waited throughout the day for the person to come forward to claim the reward. The Dean was also looking forward to rewarding the person that could defeat Jeskirin's daughter.
Unfortunately, even when the sun started setting, no one came forward to claim the reward.
"No one came yet?" The Dean kept asking the same question every few hours, but the answer was always the same.
"None."
"Why isn't the Inheritor coming to claim the reward? He achieved such a great feat, but he is still so shy?"
"Maybe he is worried about getting published? After all, that person did enter the tomb without permission."
"What foolishness! Why would I punish the Inheritor of the previous Dean's Legacy? If he hadn't entered the tomb without permission, then the flames would've been taken by that man's daughter! If anything, I want to thank that person!"
"I don't think he knows your thoughts. He is a very cautious person, from what I can guess. Even after we are willing to give him so many rewards that people would die for, he can still ignore it."
"I can't accept that." The Dean slammed the table and stood up. "We need to find that person at any cost. We can't let the legacy be withered in unknown silence. If he reveals himself, we can help him!"
The Dean wanted the Inheritor to come forward. She wanted to reward him, but more importantly, she wanted to make that person grow stronger.
That person had the potential to become the next Aliath Ashborn if he could be helped. They had all the records of the previous dean, and how that person mastered these flames and made them grow.
There were also a few skill stones that the previous Dean had left behind, which no one else but the Inheritor of the flames could use.
In her eyes, these skill stones had always been useful since the previous Dean had simply disappeared, and no one knew his fate or where his flames ended up.
Now that the flames had shown themselves, she couldn't let it go to waste. Even if that person had no intentions to show himself, she wanted to make it happen more than anything.
"After a long time, we have an opportunity to create a monstrous force like Aliath. I won't miss this opportunity. We must find that person!"
What do you think?
